M. C.DORAN, WAR VETERAN, FORMER COUNCILMAN, DEAD Charles M. C. Doran, of 147 Balview Avenue, Ocean View, attorney, former member of the City Council and veteran of both the Spanish-American War and World War, died early yesterday morning at a local hospital of pneumonia. He was 58 years old. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, to which the body will be taken from H.D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments, 610-612 East Freemason Street. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Doran was a practicing attorney in Norfolk for 34 years and represented the Tidewater Perpetual Building and Loan Association. He served in the World War as a lieutenant. Besides his wife, Mrs. Estelle M. Doran, Mr. Doran is survived by three sons, Prescott, Joseph and Cantwell Page Doran; one sister, Mrs. W.N. Maynard and five nieces. He was a brother of the late E.J. Doran and John P. Doran. *********************************************************************** Charles M. C. Doran — Funeral services for Mr. Doran, whose death occurred Thursday at a local hospital, were held at 10 o'clock yesterday morning at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ocean View, with the Rev. R. B. Kealey, pastor, officiating. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. The casket was covered with a pall of white and pink carnations and was draped with the American flag. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers were Harry A. Lamb, Elvin Miars, J. Roland Miars, Dr. A. G. Horton, S. A. Face, John B. Jenkins, L. F. Strohm, Ivor A. Page, Jr., Alvah H. Martin, Jr., A. H. Foreman and L. T. Cheshire.
