Beacon, September 11, 1832
Departed this life on Saturday last, after a lingering illness Messr. Martin 
Dozbazan*, aged 52 years. - Mr. D came recently with his family (a wife and 
children) from his residence in Guadaloupe, in hopes by change of climate and 
air to restore his dilapidated health; but alas! his hopes have not been 
realized, and his respectable family are doomed to mourn, in a strange land, 
the deprivation of their dearest friend. His remains were interred in 
respectable sytle, on Sunday evening in the new cemetery, followed by many of 
his countrymen, and the friends of the family. (Mrs. Sautejau's) in which he 
resided.
