Dougherty — Funeral services for Mr. Dougherty, who died Friday near Montgomery, Ala., were held yesterday morning at 10 o’clock at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norfolk, with the Rev. E. P. Kilgalen, pastor, officiating. The Rev. J. F. Govaert was present in the sanctuary. At the conclusion of the mass, the Rev. Paul V. Keller spoke, the subject of his address being “Greater Love Than This No Man Hath, That a Man Lay Down His Life for a Friend.” During the service Miss Mildred Meath sang “Jesus, Jesus, Come To Me” and “Ave Maria,” with J. Harvey Stevens as organist. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. The casket was covered with an American flag. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The pallbearers were Thomas R. Lowe, Eric Jens, Raymond Stephenson, Jack Gerloff, Percy Hill, Fred Sutton, Joe Matthias and Joseph Hanson.
