She was a longtime resident of Norfolk and Virginia Beach and a graduate of Columbia College in Spartanburg. She was a member of Eastern Shore Chapel Episcopal Church, and the Auxiliary to General Hospital of Virginia Beach. For many years she had been active in the Garden Club of Virginia and garden clubs of Norfolk and Virginia Beach. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Katharine Doughtie Sewell Robinson of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Sarah Doughtie Crile Crocker of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; a son, Charles Doughtie Jr. of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at noon in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, by the Rev. Robert Friend. H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road, has charge.
