DOUGHTY DEAD AT AGE OF 83 YEARS Was Native of Northampton County and Confederate Veteran Joseph B. Doughty, a well-known and an esteemed citizen of Princess Anne County, died at his home near Oaklett Sunday afternoon at 4:15 o'clock in the 83rd year of his age. The deceased was a native of Northampton County, but he had been a resident of Princess Anne more than fifty years. He was a Confederate veteran and spent the most of his time in the Confederate service around Richmond. His wife had died several years ago and he continued to keep house. His sons are L.H., J.T., J.B., Thomas W., and H.C. Doughty and Miss C.L. Doughty. His brothers and sisters are H.C. and W.E. Doughty and Mrs. Bettie S. Brittingham of Baltimore and Mrs. W.G. Bell, of Northampton, Va. The funeral will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at the Oaklett M.E. Church, with Revs. G.G. Candler and G. Westley Jones, officiating. The interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
