Douglas, who had been under treatment at St. Vincent's Hospital for one week, died at that institution at 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 54th year of his age. The deceased was a native of the Old North State, but for twenty-five years had been a resident of this city, where he was well known and highly esteemed. He was an engineer by profession. He is survived by three sons, Thomas B. Douglas of Portsmouth; S.M. Douglas of Portsmouth; S.M. Douglas of Norfolk and Curtis P. Douglas of Mathews County; a daughter, Miss Sophie M. Douglas of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. C.W. Williams of Norfolk and Mrs. Margaret Waldorf of Baltimore; three brothers, James Y. Douglas of Norfolk; J.A. Douglas of Baltimore and Smith C. Douglas of New York. The funeral will be held from the residence of his sister, Mrs. Williams, 318 Bute street, at 11 o'clock this morning and will be conducted by Rev. W.G. Starr of the Cumberland Street Methodist Church. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley ward.
