James Edward Douglas - Chesapeake - James Edward Douglas, of 4117 Leyte, 
died March 8, in his home, after a long illness.




A native of Princess Anne County, VA,  he was the husband of the late Mrs. 
Bessie R. Douglas.  He retired from Longshoreman ILA Local 1248.  He was a 
member of St. John A.M.E. Church, Bute Street, he was also a member of Mamie 
F. Kornegay Fellowship Group;  and also served as an Army Veteran  of World 
War I.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Dolores D. Studivant, of Chesapeake VA, 
one sister, Mrs. Leo Knight of Norfolk, VA;  and one grandchild.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, March 3 in St. John A.M.E. Church, Bute 
Street, by Rev. Rolter C. Davis.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with 
military honors.
