A native of Damascus, Syria, he came to this country in 1902 with his parents. He was the husband of Mrs. Wedad Doumar and a son of Joseph and Mrs. Hend Doumar. For many years, prior to the establishment of the Doumar barbecue business, he was associated with his brother, George J. Doumar, at the Doumar ice cream cone concession at Ocean View. He was vice president of Doumar’s at the time of his death. The firm was founded by Doumar and his brother in 1933. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Lodge 367, and Norfolk Elks Lodge 38, and president of Columbus Club. Surviving, besides his widow, is his brother, George Joseph Doumar of Norfolk, and three sisters, Mrs. Julie Absi of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. E. K. Khouri of Florence, S.C., and Mrs. Helen Lovejoy of Arlington. The Office of the Dead will be recited in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments tonight at 7:30. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Painter Street. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
