                 Charles J. Doumar, 67, Dies After Long Illness

Charles Joseph Doumar, 67, ice cream concessionaire at Ocean View Park from 1907 
to 1917, and brother of George and John Doumar, drive-in restauranteurs of 
Norfolk,, died yesterday at a Norfolk hospital after a long illness. He resided 
at 223 West 27th Street.
A native of Damascus, Syria, he had made his home here 45 years. He was a son of 
Joseph and Mrs. Hind Doumar.
Surviving, besides his two brothers, are five sisters, Miss Mary Doumar and Mrs. 
Julia Absi, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Mrs. Jennie Khouri of Florence, S.C.; Mrs. 
Toufic Doumar, of Norfolk and Mrs. Helen Lovejoy of Miami. Fla.
The body was removed to the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments and will be taken to 
Sacred Heart Catholic Church for funeral services tomorrow at 10 a.m. Burial 
will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary services will be conducted tonight at 
7:30 o'clock at the funeral apartments.

Charles J. Doumar — Funeral services for Mr. Doumar, who died Tuesday, were 
conducted at Sacred  Heart Catholic Church yesterday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. 
William H. Stack. The Rev. Edward W. Johnston was present in the sanctuary. 
Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The pallbearers were George Zrake, Y. E. 
Abiouness, Peter Abiouness, Tony Hage, Mike Sargie and Edward Millan.
