Norfolk Virginian May 3, 1897

Daniel Godfrey, infant son of Mr. Samuel and Mrs. Mary Susan Dowdy, 412 East 
Brambleton Avenue, died Sunday at 5 p.m., aged 11 months and 13 days. The 
funeral took place at Elmwood yesterday at 5 p.m., the Rev. E.B. McCluer , 
officiating.

DOWDY, DANIEL GODFREY, only son of Samuel S. and Mary S. Dowdy, Sunday, May 2d, 
at 5 p.m., at the residence of the parents, No. 412 E. Brambleton Avenue, aged 
11 months and 13 days. 
Suffer the little children to come unto Me and forbid them not, for of such is 
the Kingdom of God.
