VIRGINIA BEACH - Mrs. Beulah Litchfield (Booie) Dowdy, 70, of 1245 Laskin Road, 
Apt 18, the widow of Thomas Granville Dowdy and a daughter of Marshall W. and 
Mrs. Emily Capps Litchfield, died in a Norfolk hospital Thursday at 9:15 a.m.
A native of Knotts Island, N.C, she lived in Norfolk and Virginia Beach 53 
years. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Meeks of Virginia Beach and Mrs. 
Virginia Gaylor of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Olla Miles of Virginia Beach and 
Mrs. R. S. Chitty of Norfolk; three granddaughters; and two great-
granddaughters.
A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Norfolk, 
Saturday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Raleigh O. Baker of Norview Baptist Church. 
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
