He was a native of Lynchburg. Mr .Dowdy was a member of Elizabeth Camp No. 3, Woodmen of the World, and of the Pressmen's Union. He is survived by one daughter, Miss Frances D. Dowdy; two sons, Edward G. and Herbert H. Dowdy, of Norfolk and two sisters, Mrs. Ada Wirtz, of Dayton, Ohio and Mrs. Eva E. Beasly, of Jacksonville, Fla. The body was taken to the funeral home of James V. Derry, 346 West Princess Anne road, pending funeral arrangements. ***************************************************** William Edward Dowdy - Funeral services for Mr. William E. Dowdy, who died Sunday, will be conducted from the funeral home of James V. Derry, 346 West Princess Anne road, Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
