The Virginian Pilot Wednesday May 22, 1985 
Chesapeake - Leo Butler Dowdy, 90, of 845 Wilbur Ave., a native of Ahoskie, NC,
and the husband of Maude Howell Dowdy, died Tuesday in Chesapeake General Hospital.

He had retired from City Services Oil Co., and was an Army Veteran of World War
1.  He was a member of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church.

Other survivors include three sisters, Sally Goodrich of Suffolk and Eunice
Bradley and Nancy McPherson, both of Norfolk.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home,
South Norfolk Chapel with burial in Riverside Memorial Park.  The family will be
at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today
