The funeral of Edmund O. Dowling, who was killed on the Old Dominion steamer North 
Star, Saturday afternoon, took place at the Smith funeral apartments on Bank 
street yesterday afternoon, services being conducted by Rev. George Dunne, D. D., 
of St. Mary’s Catholic church, with interment in St. Mary's cemetery. Pallbearers 
were: James V. Derry, G. T. Fairer, U. H. Smith and C. Hanbury.
