Virginian-Pilot  August 8, 1918
The funeral of Mrs. Sarah Downing took place yesterday morning at the Sacred Heart 
Catholic church, being conducted by Rev. T. E. Waters. There were many elaborate 
floral offerings. Mrs. S. A. Sutton sang “Face to Face.” The pallbearers were: M. 
Enright, Thomas Hanlon, Frederick Treadwell, K. J. McAllister, M. F. Moore and E.
R. Beaman. Interment was in Saint Mary’s cemetery.
