Edward L. (Brother) Dowtin, 43, of St. Albans, New York City who died there 
Sunday, will be given funeral rites on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at New Calvary 
Baptist Church in Norfolk, with Elder Samuel A. Wilson officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under direction of the Riddick Funeral 
Service.

A native of Warren County, NC, Mr. Dowtin was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. 
James Weldon Dowtin. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Dowtin of St. Albans; 
a sister, Mrs. Louise Wunfield of Norfolk; and a brother, William Franklin Jr. 
of New York City.

Mr. Dowtin lived in Norfolk 16 years and six in Portsmouth. He had worked as a 
Pullman porter for the past 16 years.
