Emily Doyle, one of the best known residents of Norfolk died at 5:20 o'clock yesterday afternoon at her residence, 340 Bute Street. Miss Doyle was a native of Norfolk and was a daughter of the late John E. and Mary Fitzgerald Doyle. Her family is one of the best known in this section. Miss Doyle was a devout member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and took a deep interest in church work. She spent a good portion of her time in working in the sanctuary at the Sacred Heart Church. She was never more contented than when engaged in decorating the altar in this house of God with flowers and evergreens. She was a member of Pickett-Buchanan Chapter, Daughters of the Confederacy and took a great deal of interest in the work of this organization. She is survived by a sister, Miss A. Maria Doyle. The funeral will take place from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock.
