Norfolk - Eddie S. Doyle of 777 Fremont St., died Thursday in a hospital 
after a short illness.

A native of Emporia, he was a son of the late David Doyle and Mrs. Lillie 
Doyle Mayes and the husband of Mrs Florence Doyle.  He was a retired foreman 
of Calvary Cemetery,where he worked 44 years.  He was a member of Shiloh 
Baptist Church.

He is survived by a son,  Bennie Doyle of Petersburg, two daughters, Mrs. 
Bernice D. Jones of Norfolk and Mrs. Lillie D. Taylor of Brooklyn;  four 
brothers, Bennie Doyle and Charlie Doyle of Norfolk,  Johnnie Doyle of 
Baltimore, and Jessie Mayes of Petersburg;  three sisters, Mrs. Minnie 
Easter and Mrs. Clara Sawyer of Baltimore and Mrs. Hester Gillis of Emporia, 
and three grandchildren.

A funeral service wll be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Mt. Zion Baptist Church 
on Armstrong Street, by the Rev. W. O. Deloatch.  Burial will be in Calvary 
Cemetery with Morning Glory Funeral Home in charge.
