Born in Old Princess Anne County, Mrs. Dozier was the daughter of the late Archie and Essie Etheridge Railey. She was predeceased by her husband Claude Wilson Dozier and also a sister Miriam B. Brown. Mrs. Dozier sold Avon for 35 years. She was a Christian with a strong faith in Jesus Christ and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Survivors include two sons, Richard Wilson Dozier Sr. of Chesapeake and William Nelson Dozier and his wife Keith of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, Richard W. Dozier Jr. of Norfolk, Blake W. Dozier and Collin K. Dozier, both of Virginia Beach; and one great-grandson, Chase V. Dozier. A funeral will be conducted in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Chesapeake, at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. John Burley of Galilee Episcopal Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery, Norfolk. The viewing will begin Monday with the family receiving friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Sidney M. Oman Cancer Treatment Center, Chesapeake General Hospital, 736 North Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23320.
