Dozier, 92, an employee of the accounting department of The Virginian-Pilot and Ledger-Star from 1925 to 1957, died Tuesday in a hospital. A native of Kempsville, Princess Anne County, she was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Her parents were James W. and Mrs. Mary Virginia Thomson Dozier. She was first employed as a bookkeeper with a wholesale drug house. She had no experience and hadn't studied bookkeeping, she said, at her retirement in 1957, but learned as she went along. In April 1925 she joined the Ledger-Dispatch accounting department, filling the position left vacant when her sister married. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. P.B. Brittingham and Miss Maude Dozier of Virginia Beach. The body will be taken from Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to Elmwood Cemetery for a funeral service Thursday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. H. Wadell Waters of First Baptist Church, Virginia Beach. The family will be at 111 69th St., Virginia Beach.
