NORFOLK — Jacob Newport Dozier, 65, of 504 Oak Grove Road, the husband of Mrs. 
Doris Parker Dozier and a native of Newport News, died Tuesday morning in a 
hospital.
A retired businessman, he was a lifelong area resident.
He was a member of Park Place United Methodist Church and Corinthian Masonic 
Lodge 266.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Paretta Dozier Mudd of LaPlata, Md.; 
three sisters, Miss Ruth R. Dozier and Mrs. J. D. Carter of Williamsburg, and 
Mrs. Phillip Bowling of LaPlata; a brother, J. M. Dozier Jr. of Lee Hall; and 
five grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 
Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Woodrow A. Giles and the Rev. C. Ambrose Turner Jr. 
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart 
Fund.
