The Norfolk Virginian Pilot May 29, 1938

Mrs. Emma Jane Dozier, aged 89, widow of John Edwin Dozier, died at her 
residence, 821 West Thirty-Forth Street, yesterday morning at 11:10 o'clock. 
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. N.B. Worrell, Mrs. George W. Raulfs 
and Mrs. Lloyd Smith, all of Norfolk; two sons, John E. Dozier, of Raleigh, 
N.C., and A.B. Dozier, of Norfolk; a half-sister, Mrs. H.C. Harding, of 
Norfolk; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dozier was a native 
of Princess Anne County and had been a resident of Norfolk 70 years and was a 
member of Freemason Street Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow 
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
