The Norfolk Virginian Pilot April 14, 1938

Richard Randolph Dozier, aged 53, husband of Mary H. Dozier, died at his 
residence, 902 East Twenty-Eighth Street yesterday morning at 10:15 o’clock 
after a long illness. He was the son of the late Joshua F. and Mrs. Lula 
Godfrey Dozier, a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk. Surviving him, 
besides his wife, are two daughters, Misses May Virginia and Louise Dozier, 
three sons, Moncure F., Franklin R. and Herbert R. Dozier, two stepdaughters, 
Misses Elizabeth M. and Virginia L. Miller, two stepsons, Robert S. and Elvin 
O. Miller, all of Norfolk, and one sister, Mrs. Betty Galliger, of Portsmouth.
The body was removed to the Derry Funeral Chapel, corner of Colonial and 
Harrington Avenues, pending funeral arrangements.
