Rayetta was born in Wilmington, DE and raised in Norfolk, Va.

Mrs. Drew was married to George Drew, of Hampton, VA. for 52 years. She was an 
excellent wife, and an excellent mother to her three sons.

Rayetta graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and received her Bachelors 
of Science Degree in Elementary Childhood Education from Norfolk State University.

She taught for the Norfolk Public School system for 20 years.

In the community, for 40 years, she volunteered her service to the Cub Scouts, 
BSA, chartered at First Baptist Church Bute Street, Norfolk, where she served as a 
member for just as long. In the Scouts, she served roles as Cubmaster, Den Leader, 
and Tiger Cub Coach. She also received the Legendary Award and the Silver Beaver 
Award, the highest award an adult can earn in Scouting.

For recreation, Mrs. Drew enjoyed fishing. It was evident that Rayetta enjoyed 
spending quality time serving her family, community, and our Heavenly Father, the 
Holy Spirit, and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Rayetta was predeceased by her parents Earl and Mable Green, and her sister, Laura 
Dawson. She is survived by her husband George Sr., her sons, George (“Henry”) Jr., 
Damani, and Eric, her daughters-in-law, Kelly and Gessica, her granddaughter 
Kenzie and grandson Levi, her niece Stephanie, and a host of other relatives and 
friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday May 3, 2022 at 11:00am at Saint Mary’s 
Cemetery in Norfolk, VA.
