Virginian-Pilot, July 28, 1903
Emmett Drewery, a young white man, was drowned yesterday afternoon in 
Brambleton between Brambleton bridge and Ohio Creek while bathing. It is said 
that Drewery was attacked with cramp and sank before assistance could be 
rendered. The body was recovered and the coroner notified.
