Norfolk-Mrs. Anne Purnell Drewry, 81, of 721 Raleigh Ave., widow of Dr. Herbert 
Roney Drewry, died Saturday at 9:15 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital.
A native of Raleigh, N.C., she lived in Norfolk 60 years. Her later parents 
were Judge Thomas R. and Mrs. Adelia Zeverly Purnell.
She was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
Surviving are two nephews, Dr. John S. McKee Jr. of Morganton, N.C., and Thomas 
P. Ridley of Baltimore; and one niece, Mrs. Carey Bachelor of New York.
The body was taken to H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.
A funeral service will be held in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Monday at 11 
a.m. by the Rev. Peyton R. Williams, rector of Christ and St. Luke’s Episcopal 
Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
