Drummond, whose serious illness has been noted in Sunday's issue of the LANDMARK, expired at her home on the morning of that day at 10 o'clock, in presence of all her children, save one (Mr. Chas. Drummond), who was absent at Cobb's Island. Her sickness has been of a protracted and most painful nature, which she bore with heroic fortitude. Three sons and two daughters are left to mourn the loss of a mother, whose life was adorned by Christian virtues; and the absent one painfully realizes the fulfillment of his impression on the eve of his reluctant departure, that he should never see her in life again. Her funeral took place at her late residence yesterday at 4 1/2 o'clock p.m. and the services were conducted by Rev. H. Butler, assisted by Rev. Robert Gatewood. ****************************************************************************** The funeral of Mrs. Drummond took place yesterday afternoon from her late residence on Main Street. The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: Jim Walk, Major Mullen, Sam Marsh, John Myer, Wm. S. Butt, Mr. Witsoe. The services were conducted by Rev. H.H. Butler and Rev. Mr. Gatewood. The remains were carried to Magnolia Cemetery for interment.
