Sept. 20, 1960 Arthur Scott Drumwright, Auto Body Builder, Dies NORFOLK — Arthur Scott Drumwright, 76, of 2708 Marlboro Ave., veteran of 45 years in the automobile body building business, died Monday in a Norfolk hospital. He was owner‑operator of A. S. Drumwright & Co. Body Builders, 1921 E. Brambleton Ave., which he had run at the same site since 1915. Born in Hot Springs, son of James Edward and Mrs. Fannie Octavo [sic] Shepphard [sic] Drumwright, he lived in Norfolk 67 years. He was a member of Park Place Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edna Lewis Drumwright; one daughter, Mrs. Helen D. Poe of Falls Church; two sons, Arthur Lewis Drumwright of Baton Rouge, La., and Raymond Edward Drumwright of Norfolk; one sister, Mrs. Blanche Drumwright Williams of Norfolk; two brothers, J. Howard Drumwright of Norfolk and Robert K. Drumwright of Fork Union; and six grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at Cox Funeral Home today at 4 p.m. by Dr. Henry W. Tiffany, pastor of Park Place Baptist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
