J. O. Schmidhauser officiating. The Rev. J. F. Govaert, pastor, the Rev. James Albert, and the Rev. T. P. Scannell were present in the sanctuary. In his address at the conclusion of the mass, Father Schmidhauser paid tribute to the Christian life and character of Mr. Duffey, and also read a letter of sympathy from the Rev. Leo J. Ryan, S.T.D., former pastor of the church. During the service, the choir sang, "Veni Jesu,” with Mrs. C. R. Davies as organist. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. The casket was covered with a pall of Easter lilies, pink roses and fern. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Services at the grave were conducted by the Rev. J. F. Govaert, the Rev. J. O. Schmidhauser and the Rev. T. P. Scannell. The pallbearers were Charles E. Flaherty, Richard P. Smith, M. Daily Walsh, Robert R. Quigley, Joseph B. Ennis, Jr., William J. Cannon, Joseph V. MGlinchy and Robert B. Lawler, all members of Norfolk Council No. 367, Knights of Columbus (fourth degree).
