Dunbar, the veteran printer of the Norfolk Virginian, had the deep misfortune Sunday at 10:10 a.m. to lose by death the company of his beloved wife along the remainder of earth's journey. Mrs. Dunbar was 63 years of age and had many, many friends. The major and his wife had passed many of life's milestones in company and the loss of his companion will prove a severe blow, in the bearing of which he has the sincere sympathy of all who know him. Mrs. Dunbar was for many years a member in good standing of the First Presbyterian Church, of this city, and a lady of great worth, Christian charity and sweetness of life. She was a sister of the late Messrs. Sol. and Edward Hodges, former well-known printers, at one time connected with the Virginian. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence, 223 Charlotte Street. ******************************************************** The funeral of Mrs. Emily E. Dunbar, wife of Major D.B. Dunbar, took place yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the residence, on Charlotte street, and was conducted by Rev.Jesse T. Whitley, of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, at Hampton, and Rev. E.B. McCluer, of the Park Avenue Presbyterian Church, this city. The interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Dunbar, wife of Major D.B. Dunbar, was laid to rest in Cedar Grove yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The funeral services were conducted at the residence on Charlotte street, by Rev. Jesse T. Whitney, of the Hampton Methodist Church, an old friend of the deceased, assisted by Rev. E.B. McCluer, pastor of the Park Avenue Presbyterian Church, this city. A large number of friends followed the remains to the grave. The pallbearers were as follows: Col. George W. Tait, M. Glennan, James L. Belote, Frank W. Blate, Maj. William E. Foster, John W. Cherry, Mr. Boswell W. Bagnall and F.P. Story.
