Norfolk Virginian Pilot December 30, 1940

Mrs. Amelia Murden Duncan, aged 84, widow of Leeman Duncan, and daughter of 
the late Batson and Mrs. Mary Murden, died in Washington Saturday night at 
11:30 o'clock.  She was a native of Mississippi, a former well known 
resident of Norfolk, and had resided in Washington for the past 12 months. 
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Archie Baugham, of Washington; a son, 
Arthur Duncan, of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren and two nieces, Mrs. 
Herbert Simpson and Mrs. Daisy I. Sebille, both of Norfolk,  Mrs. Duncan was 
a member of the Three Score and Ten Club.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, with the 
Rev. E.P. Miner, rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, officiating.  Burial 
will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
