He was the husband of Mrs. Mildred Smith Duncan and a son of Constantine and Mrs. Sonora Gaskins Duncan. A native of Hampton, he lived in Norfolk most of his life and since 1947 in Virginia Beach. He was a member of Eastern Shore Chapel, Cavalier Beach Club, Elks Lodge and Lynch Anchorage American League Post, Norfolk. Before retirement, he was president of Norfolk Sash & Door Co. Surviving, besides his widow, are a daughter, Mrs. Nicholas D. Langston of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, Basil M. Duncan Jr of Columbus, Ohio, and five grandchildren. The body will be taken from H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, to Elmwood Cemetery for a funeral service Saturday at 11 a m. by the Rev. Sidney Sanders of Eastern Shore Chapel. The family has requested that flowers be omitted.
