He was 62 years and 8 months old and leaves a wife and ten children, six sons and four daughters, to mourn their loss. He was a kind husband, a loving father and faithful friend to those about him. He was a most consistent member of Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian Church and a prominent commission merchant of Norfolk, in which business he had been engaged for a long term of years. He was born on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The funeral will take place Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock, after which his remains will be laid to rest in Magnolia Cemetery. ************************************************************************* The funeral of the late Mr. Levi Duncan, who died at his home, on Liberty Street Saturday at 11 o'clock, was conducted from the residence yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock by the Rev. W.A. Slaymaker, the pastor of Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian Church, of which deceased was a member and Rev. R.M. Chandler, of the Chestnut Street M.E. Church. Two quartettes, "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Asleep in Jesus," were beautifully rendered by Messrs W.B. Dougherty and Norman Allen and Mrs. George W. Wallace and Miss Helen Slaymaker. The residence was filled to overflowing by the many friends of the deceased and bereaved family. His remains were laid to rest in Magnolia Cemetery. The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: Hon. John M. Berkley, Captain M.C. Keeling, Charles H. Williams, G.D. Williams, Dr. George W. Wallace ,J.T. Parks, Charles Gibbs, Sr. and L.O. Warner.
