Dungee, 62, formerly a teacher in Norfolk and in King William County, were held on Thursday at First Baptist Church (Bute Street) with the Rev. E. Paul Simms, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery under direction of the Hale Funeral Home. Miss Dungee, who lived at 1231 Hanson avenue, died in a hospital early Monday morning. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dungee of King William. A member of First Baptist’s Missionary Circle, Miss Dungee also sang in a choir there. She was a graduate of Hampton Institute. Affiliations of the deceased included Emily Elizabeth chapter and the Royal Degree chamber of the United Order of Tents, the United Order of Wise Men, of which she was a council past president; Sisters of Charity, the Ida W. Bagnall Federated club of the Norfolk City Federation of Colored Women’s clubs, the Needlework Guild and the Hamper and Basket Exchange. Immediate survivors are three brothers, Charles, Hamlin and Leonard Dungee, all of King William County; several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
