Dunn died yesterday morning at 4 o'clock at the family residence on Clifton street, after a month's illness. The deceased was 51 years of age, and leaves a wife, a daughter, Miss Lizzie, and two sons, Messrs. W.C. and C.E. Dunn, and a host of friends to mourn their loss. Mr. Dunn was born in 1848 in Portsmouth, where he lived for twenty-three years, until he came to Berkley, and has resided here since. He was greatly beloved for his many virtues. Gentle in disposition, soft in speech, generous in nature and devoted in his love for his family. To his friends he was ever loyal and to his church consistent and true. He was a Master Mason of Berkley Lodge, one of the charter members of Berkley Lodge of Pythians, Middleton Lodge of I.O.O.F. and the Knights of Honor of Norfolk, and to all he was true and was beloved by the members. His death has cast a gloom over the community, which extends to the bereaved family its deepest sympathies. The funeral will be conducted from the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church, of which deceased was a member, Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock and the interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
