The Virginian Pilot Thursday May 1, 1958
Mrs. Mattie Hendren Durand, 80, widow of Benjamin Oliver Durand and aunt of 
W. Harry Hendren of 112 Conway Ave., died in Washington Tuesday.
Besides Mr. Hendren, she is survived by several other nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Durand was a native of Norfolk, and had been a resident of Washington 
for 51 years. Before her retirement, she was a Civil Service employe for a 
number of years.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Friday 
at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery. The family has requested 
that flowers be omitted.
