Mrs. Carrie V. Durham, formerly of this city, departed this life January 10th,1924 
in Brooklyn NY, at the home of her son Mr. David Robinson, 468 Howard avenue. The 
funeral services were held Sunday, January 13th at Bridge Street A. M. E. Church, 
of which she was a very active member during her brief stay in the city. The 
remains were brought to the city accompanied by her son and daughter, Mr. Robinson 
and Mrs. Hattie Durham Butts of New York City. On January 13th funeral services 
were held at St. John A. M. E. Church, Norfolk, Rev. J. A. Young and Rev. W. W. 
Roberts officiating. She was a member of several organizations who paid their 
tribute of respect. Mrs. Durham had a host of friends and the numerous floral 
designs attested to the high esteem in which she was held in New York and Norfolk.
