She was born in New Orleans, La., and had been at St. Vincent’s 21 years. She entered the community May 1, 1854, and she spent the first years of her religious life in Natchez, Miss. She was known to many Norfolk people and was loved and esteemed not only by her associates at St. Vincent’s hospital and her Catholic co-laborers in the city, but by hundreds of friends, both Protestant and Catholic, to whom she ministered during her long service here. She will be remembered not only for her labors, but for her genial and kindly ways and her gentle manner. Notice of funeral will be given later.
