Virginian-Pilot  September 14, 1937
John Dyer, aged 57, husband of Mrs. Juanita Sanchez Dyer, a native of California, 
and for the past 20 years a resident of Norfolk, died at 12:30 o’clock this 
morning at a local hospital. He resided at 1111 Holt street.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Juanita Sanchez Dyer, he is survived by four daughters, 
Mrs. Josephine D. Cruz, and Misses Mary, Rosa and Julia Dyer; three sons, John 
Dyer, Jr., Robert and Ralph Dyer and two grandchildren, Antonio and Miguel Cruz, 
all of Norfolk.
Services will be held at H. D. Oliver's funeral apartments, 610-12 East Freemason 
street, this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
