Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, March 9, 1999 
Carla Eugenia Dyson, 41, of the 6400 block of Swan Arc, went home to be with her
Lord and Savior on March 7, 1999.

Born in Norfolk, she was the daughter of Carl E. Dyson Sr. and Olivia M. Dyson.
For the past five years, she was the director of human resources at Norshipco.
As an active member of Olive Grove Baptist Church, Carla served in the Young
Adult and Senior choirs, Drama Guild, Praise and Worship teams and willingly
gave her support in church programs where her talents were needed. She was the
second vice president of the Sewells Point Civic League and worked diligently to
help revitalize the community. Every life she touched experienced the depth of
her love and selfless giving.

She was the mother of a son, Jumaane K. Dyson of Norfolk, and is also survived
by her parents; six sisters, Carolyn J. Parker of Virginia Beach, Thomasine D.
Williams of Norfolk, Debra O. Taylor and Phyllis C. Lowery, both of Chesapeake,
Denise O. Martin of Virginia Beach and Veda C. Bolton, also of Chesapeake; three
brothers, Carl E. Dyson Jr. of Virginia Beach, Carlos A. Dyson of Norfolk and
Derek A. Dyson of Alexandria; brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles
and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Olive Grove Baptist Church, 1034
Albert Ave., Norfolk. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family will
receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Riddick Funeral Home, Norfolk.
