He was a native of Hickory, and had lived in that section most of his life, but moved to South Norfolk three years ago. He was the son of George W. and Virginia Lee Eason, the husband of Amanda Halstead Eason. He was a member of the South Norfolk Baptist Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jesse W. Eason, of Hickory, and Maj. George W. Eason, of Fort Jackson, S.C.; one stepson, Sidney E. Charlton, of Hickory; one brother, J.B. Eason, of Norfolk; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, in South Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. Place of burial will be announced later. *************** George Washington Eason, Sr. - Funeral services for Mr. Eason, who died Monday, will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at the Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk, by the Rev. Frank Hughes, pastor of the South Norfolk Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. Fred T. Laughon, Jr., pastor of the Talbot Park Baptist Church, and the Rev. S.G. Knick, pastor of the Indian Creek Disciples Church. Pallbearers were R.O. Eason, J.P. Eason, E.M. Eason, J.B. Eason, William Eason, Earl Diebler, Charles Broswell, Russel Charlton and Raymond Cooper. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery.
