Norfolk Virginian December 29, 1896

Mr. John T. Eason died yesterday morning at 9:15 o'clock, at his home on Mozart 
Avenue, in the 51st year of his age. The funeral will take place this evening at 
3 o'clock from the residence. The deceased was a member of Washington Lodge, 
I.O.O.F. and Wyandotte Tribe, I.O.R.M., which bodies will attend the funeral.

The funeral of Mr. John T. Eason took place yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock 
from the residence, on Mozart Avenue, Brambleton, and was conducted by Rev. F.H. 
Martin, of Spurgeon Baptist Church.  Members of Washington Lodge of Odd Fellows 
and Wyandotte Tribe of Red Men, to which he belonged, were in attendance. The 
interment was in Elmwood.
