The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Saturday May 12, 1934
Hugh Fisher East, aged 82, husband of Mary Duke East, died at a local hospital 
yesterday afternoon at 1:50 o'clock. Besides his wife, he is survived by four 
daughters, Mrs. George Hareberger and Mrs. William E. Fizer, both of Roanoke, 
and Mr. R.A. Etheridge and Mrs. Mary Swinson, both of Norfolk; two sons, J.R. 
and Ernest P. East, both of Norfolk; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren 
and a great-great-grandchild.
Mr. East was a native of Accomac(sic)County, and had been a resident of 
Norfolk for the past 40 years. He resided at 226 Franklin Avenue.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow 
afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
