Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark January 1, 1917

Mrs. Mary E. East, aged 59 years, died yesterday at 11:30 o'clock at the home of 
her sister, Mrs. Alice Caffee, 726 Mariner Street, after a lingering illness.  
Besides her sister, she is survived by one brother, Robert Garden. The funeral 
will take place at H.C. Smith's Funeral Apartments, 306 Bank Street, this 
afternoon at 4 o'clock.  Burial will be in Riverside.
