He was a native of Portsmouth and had lived in South Norfolk 14 years. He was a son of Mrs. Hattie Bell Chandler East and the late Ernest F. East. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Audrey Hatfield East; one son, Pierce Lee East; a brother, Clifford F. East, and a sister, Miss Ida Bell East, of Norfolk. He was a member of the South Norfolk Christian Church. The body was taken to the J. R. Williams Funeral Home, 1027 Chesapeake avenue, South Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock. Burial will be in the family plot in Magnolia Cemetery.
