East took place at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon from Freemason Street Church of Christ, and was conducted by Rev C.Q. Wright, U.S.N. “Jesus Lover of My Soul” and “Asleep in Jesus” were rendered during the impressive services. The casket was handled by eight colored employees of the Farmers’ Manufacturing Company, of which the deceased was a member. The honorary pall- bearers were his sons and two near kinsmen-Messrs. J. Frank East, L.B. East, H.K. Bell and J.H. Schlegel. The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.
