A funeral service was scheduled to be held Thursday afternoon at Bank Street 
Baptist Church for George Thomas Eaton, 68, of 1616 Amelia Street.

A resident of Norfolk for 60 years, Mr. Eaton died in a hospital here on 
Sunday following a long illness.  He had served as head bellman at the 
Fairfax Hotel, and had worked there for 32 years.

The eulogy for Mr. Eaton was to be delivered by the Rev. J. B. Henderson, 
with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Riddick Funeral 
Home.

Mr. Eaton was a  native of Warrenton, NC, and was the son of the late Sandy 
and Sarah Kerney Eaton.  He was a member of the Oriole Social and Beneficial 
Club, the Bellmen’s Club and Bank Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucretia K. Eaton;  two sisters, Mrs. Lila 
Hayes of Brooklyn, NY, and Mrs. Mary Boothe of Kittrell, NC and a brother, 
the Rev. David Eaton of Norfolk.
