The deceased, the Rev. Plummer P. Eaton, 72, died Sunday in a Norfolk Hospital. He had been ill since November. The minister, who lived at 724 Marshall avenue, was pastor of National Baptist Church at his death. He also had been pastor of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. J. Jasper Freeman, pastor of Queen Street, and the Rev. P. L. Harvey, pastor of St. Mark’s RZUA Church of Lamberts Point were to conduct the Queen Street service. Burial was to be in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Hale Funeral Home. Rev. Eaton was born in Creedmoor, VA, and was the son of the late Plummer Peter Eaton and Mrs. Fannie Eaton, and was a member of the Baptist Ministers Conference. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Katie L. Eaton; three sons, Oliver Harold Eaton of Washington, Patrick P. Eaton and John Wesley Eaton of Norfolk; six daughters, Mrs. Ethel E. Anderson, Mrs. Fannie Mason, and Miss Gertrude Eaton of Chicago; Mrs. Dorothy Newton, Mrs. Ruth Stinnette and Mrs. Emma E. Smith; a sister, Ms. Pida Rochelle of Creedmore; three brothers, Robert Eaton of New York, and Fred and Irving Eaton of Stamford CT, and 22 grandchildren.
