Augustus Edmonds, 76, of 425 Appomattox street, who retired from the Old Bay Line 
after serving 35 years, was given final rites recently at Mt. Zion Baptist 
Church.  The Rev. R. T. Adams officiated and burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery 
under direction of Pretlow Funeral Home.

Mr. Edmonds was a native of Halifax County.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. 
Susan Edmonds;  and two sons, Roger Edmonds of New Haven, CT, and St. Augustine 
Edmonds of Norfolk.
