Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark August 7, 1912 

John T. Edmonds died Tuesday afternoon at his residence, 60 High Street, in his 
sixty-seventh year. Mr. Edmonds was a native of the Eastern Shore but made his 
home in Norfolk for forty years. During the Civil War he served as a member of 
Company C, Sixth Virginia Regiment, Mahone's Brigade. Mr. Edmonds was a member 
of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He is survived by two daughters, Miss Bessie K. 
and Miss Nina M. Edmonds and two sons, Kirkland L. and Jno. B. Edmonds, all of 
this city. Two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Carstarphens and Miss Elizabeth Edmonds, 
also survive the deceased. 
Funeral services will be held from the residence Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock 
and will be conducted by Father Halbeib, assistant pastor of Sacred Heart 
Church.

The funeral of John T. Edmonds was held at his late residence, 60 High street, 
at 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon, and was largely attended. The service was 
conducted by Rev. Father Walters of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. "Lead 
Kindly Light" was tenderly rendered by Miss Rosa Smith. The floral tributes were 
numerous and beautiful. The interment was in St. Mary's cemetery.
The following were the pall-bearers: W. H. King, H. K. Bell, John T. Hudgins, J. 
F. Kegebein, F. P. Bannon and J. E. Parr.
